IELTS preparation in Marrakech
Prepare for IELTS Academic or IELTS for UKVI with ProTrain in Guéliz, Marrakech: a preparation adapted to your level, your target score and your application deadlines.
Which IELTS do you need?
There are several versions of the test. Check the one your university or your visa asks for before you book.
IELTS Academic
The usual test for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programs taught in English, in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and many other countries.
IELTS for UKVI
A version approved by the UK Home Office, required for some UK visa applications and for some courses, especially below degree level.
IELTS General Training
Designed for work, training or migration. It is generally not the test universities ask for.
The four parts of the test
- Listening: recordings followed by questions.
- Reading: texts with several types of questions.
- Writing: two writing tasks.
- Speaking: a face-to-face interview with an examiner.
Each part is scored on a band scale from 0 to 9, and the overall score is a band from 0 to 9 too. The test is taken on paper or on a computer, depending on the test centre and the date.

IELTS: your questions
Answers to the questions Moroccan students and parents ask us about IELTS.
It depends on the university, the program and sometimes on each part of the test: some programs ask for a minimum band in writing or speaking as well as an overall score. The required score is published on the admission page of each program. We check it with you before you start preparing.
It depends on your starting level and the score you need. The diagnostic test gives a clear picture of the gap to close. Plan your first test early, ideally a year before your application deadlines, so you can retake it if needed.
ProTrain prepares you for the test; the test itself is taken with an official IELTS test centre. You choose the test type, the format and a date on the official IELTS website, and we help you pick a date that leaves time for a retake.
Many universities accept both, but not all: some UK visa routes ask for a Home Office approved test such as IELTS for UKVI, and some programs list only one test. Start from the requirements of the programs you target. ProTrain also offers TOEFL preparation.
Most universities accept IELTS results up to two years old, but each institution sets its own rule. Check the rule of each program before you book, especially if you plan to apply over two admission cycles.
